Katharina Fritsch Kind mit Pudeln (Child with Poodles)
Went to the SF MOMA this Saturday, and this was YY’s favorite. Fritsch cast 224 poodles in plaster, painted them black, and arranged them in 4 concentric circles around a white baby lying on an 8-pointed star. The points of the star create radiating axes by which the poodles are aligned.
I can’t help thinking the baby is the spawn of Satan reveling in the worshipful tail-wagging of 224 evil black poodles.
